Tour de what?
Isn’t it funny how none of you know that the Tour de France is going on right now? Yet, 3 or 4 years ago it was stuffed down our throat about how important it was. It was exciting to watch Lance beat the French and overcome huge obstacles of cancer. But, do you realize it was his story you were rooting for, not the sport? See we men are in to soap operas, they just come in the form of sporting events, not sitcoms. The biggest news in sports right now is an allegation of dog fighting, not the Falcon’s playbook.
I guess you notice how when you watch the Olympics, there is always a 10min video montage of the athelete’s struggle through life. Then you watch the actual event. This is to hook you into the person’s story. You could really care less about cross-country skiing, right?

i am grateful
It is an honor to serve with Jacob, Dan, Scott, Jackie, Wynnel, Lori, Judy, Erica, and all the invaluable PromiseGroup leaders here on our staff. This team has assembled from Alaska, West Virginia, Louisiana, West Texas, and many other places to follow God’s perfect plan in San Marcos!
And look what is happening. Last night was beautiful. We laughed, prayed, worshiped, hugged, ascended, and then went home tired. Lets do it all again on Sunday!

One thing you can’t call us!
You can’t call us spoiled. We won’t ever take for granted a Sunday morning service.
I didn’t realize how much I need Sunday morning worship with my friends and family until Sunday. It is obvious that there are different levels of membership. At PromiseLand, we don’t classify people by their involvement. But, Sunday I realized that if you don’t come every week, then you don’t like it as much as I do. I love to worship, I love to minister, I love to see my friends. These three functions complete and fulfill our church-going experience. If you are not doing all 3, then I urge you to start.
Sunday felt like a pruning. God is shaking our tree and trimming to see what limbs need to be eliminated. This may be attitudes, ideas, pride, and could even be people. It will make us better.
Pastor Randy called and said, “God is going to make it up to you.”

(in case you don’t know what I am talking about…our Sunday morning worship services were canceled due to flooding)
What are you Proud of?
As we were teaching Jude to be potty trained, we would celebrate with him by the potty whenever he successfully made a deposit. Especially #2! Dancing and singing and “yeah, Jude!”
Now, he expects a celebration every time. He is even proud of his work. The other day my mom and Jude were alone at Jason’s Deli and Jude wanted to “save it for mama to look at later.” My mom had to inform him that that was not a good idea.
So what are you proud of. Why? We will be talking at great length about this on Sunday.
Change
Changing the Blog has sparked a little “excitement”. Some are game for anything new, others are more hesitant, still others resist. Are you willing to admit your apprehension for change? I spoke with our church leaders on Monday night about the newness of my life. I feel a fresh view of everyday life. So my schedule has changed, my office rearranged, relationships shifted. The newness of my spiritual life has manifested on the outside (my natural life).
Expect that God can transform your life. Even if you are already a Christian, that doesn’t mean that you have to be stuck in a rut. Jesus’ life was filled with new adventures and shifting from “glory to glory”.
I want to, for the first time, prophesy through the blog. This is coming to you. Be ready for a New Season. God’s creation shows us His pattern of life: spring, summer, fall, winter. Each has a divine purpose. Each takes away something stagnant and forces something new to come forth. Why would God bring something to me and forsake you? You are a part of me as PromiseLand family. What I have, I pass to you.
I must say that before the new season hit, I went through a winter season. The months of April and May were tough times, but God never failed me. I stood on prophecy. God used people like Jacinta Ramos to speak words into my life.
Thank God for change.
