Henry and Veronica’s Group Psalm
God, You are bigger than the universe
You are a forgiving God, when I come to You;
You don’t care what I do
You are always there when we are under the bridge
Lord, when I come to You
and my requests don’t come through,
it’s for Your reason
You are a loving and understanding Father
who knows our desires and needs
Lord, show me where I need to be
You have a purpose for us
Lord, we feel Your roar;
Let us not be afraid
Let us not be afraid
Lord, we shall know You for who You are
You are an anointing God
Creator of all visions
You are a healing God
A God who is always in the drivers seat.
Pentecostal Temple
Friday night, I have been asked to preach at a Worship Conference hosted by Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ.
My friend Wayne Thompson and his father lead this great church. The interesting thing is that their church building is too small to host the event so they are moving down the street to Jackson Chapel United Methodist Church (on Centre Street). For those of you that are new, that is the building our church was birthed in.
We met at Jackson Chapel for 4 months on Friday nights, and we “had church”. The building really did rock back and forth. It will be exciting to go back to that place for a revival night service.
Join me if you are open to it. I know many of the women are going to our church for a special event. You won’t want to miss that ladies. So, I guess I am plugging for men to come and help me out. It starts at 7pm.

Rudy and Lorraine’s Group Psalm
Oh Lord my God, who are You?
Where were You in my times of troubles,
When I felt alone, when I was abused, in my distress, in my despair,
When I am on my knees, when I am afraid, when I hear the ramblings of man,
saying You are not the answer or the way,
But in my weakness I see Your strength and I hear Your gentle voice calling to me.
Like a superhero, You come and rescue me, and
how you rescue me is through Your Word!
When I couldn’t see my way, you were my watchman to guide me.
You made my sorrow into joy.
In my lack, You have become Everything.
As the wind, You can be so gentle but oh so powerful.
So again, I ask, who are You?
You are the Lord, my God.
Hype, Spin, Faith
Hype, spin, and faith. Each word congers up certain feelings, attitudes, and emotions.
When looking at the politic races, I hear a lot of each of these. I read today that John McCain “says he has momentum after winning in South Carolina.” This might be a fact, or it might be a candidate spinning or hyping or having faith. Only time will tell if he has momentum and how much it is. The key that I read was he ‘says’ he has momentum. Why do you have to promote the fact that you have momentum? If you have it, then you don’t need to promote it. Right?
Why talk about this? I don’t really care about McCain’s political momentum, and I am not picking on him. It just seems like a good example for…Our relationship with God and our situations in life.
My faith is built on nothing less than Jesus Christ and His righteousness. My belief in God is based on my exposure to HIM alone. Not facts of life, not situations that I go through, not what other people explain or prove. This world could pass away and I would still believe.
So, faith based on Jesus Christ alone means that I don’t have to use hype or spin to explain the situations of life. Good things, bad things, neutral things all are separate from my system of faith.
Reward
Currently, I have 972 comments on my blog. Comments are your input.
The person that enters the 1000th comment will get a $50 gift certificate to a local restaurant.
If you are from out of town…we will have to figure something out.
There will be no way (that I know of) for you to know how many comments are left.
So…lets see what happens.
