The Gomez Psalm (Lockhart Group)

The Lord is Holy
The Lord is Magnificent
He is full of Mercy.
He is great.

He protects us.
He defends us.
He supplies our every need.

He is the CEO of CEO’s.
He’s smarter than Google and at the end of the work day, He’s still the
Lord of lords.

When we rise in the morning, He gives us our breath.
During rush-hour traffic, He gives us peace.
When things are hectic at work, He’s our sword and shield.  He inspires us
to excel on our jobs and helps us to bring hope to a lost and dying world.

Regardless of the tasks that we are given, He surrounds us with His favor.
Because of His goodness, we are not moved by the world’s economy.

At the end of our work-day, you provide groceries for our table and pay all
our bills.

You keep us healthy and cover us with security and protection.
Lord, we love you.

sports fans are sensitive

If you don’t like sports, please don’t read this or give some sort of comment slamming sports.

Growing up in Texas, I have always liked the Longhorns, Cowboys, and Spurs. In the 80s, I started liking the Lakers.

Each season, when my team doesn’t make the playoffs or Superbowl (although, with the teams I pick I have enjoyed a lot of winning) I often pick another team to cheer for. In the past, I picked teams with the best story line. I have found that most sports fans like the sport with the following breakdown: 50% for the actual game and 50% for the storyline behind the game. We love the soap-opera story. The background story creates a lot of excitement for the actual game.

danmarinoSo, in the past, I would be very upset when a certain player that I like didn’t win. I felt sorry for Karl Malone, he was a good guy and didn’t win the championship. Dan Marino, Charles Barkley, the list goes on and on.

Finally, it donned on me…why do I feel sorry for a guy that is making $5,000,000 a year plus endorsements? When we were watching the Cowboys this year lose against the Giants. Tony Romo bowed his head and my mom said, “poor guy.” I said, “Mom, he just signed a $60,000,000 contract. I don’t feel sorry for him.”

I have learned to enjoy sports for the game itself and not so much for the all the other.

Am I being cynical and insensitive? Does this realization ruin the story line?

Krauss Group Psalm

God is my rock, my Comforter and my tech Support.
He is my MVP, and my all in all.

I will not insult God when ask for His Provision.
God is Authority. Not too big to be Personal,
but I am put in perspective when in His presence.
He is someone to always come back to.
He has a plan, and WILL get glory.

My God has my back, he is my supplier, my replenisher of love.
He is as big as I need Him to be.
He gives me more love and then fills my bucket back up.
God is my Head Coach, my go to guy, constant friend,
and He doesn’t misconstrue my words.

He is so big, He has plans that make sense even after the chaos.
His provision is so cool.
He knows when to say yes to my prayers and no when I ask selfishly.
He showers me with favor, open doors, promotes me, and is my protector.

God helps me to not be anxious, not to worry, He is my way maker.
He is my safe place, my shelter
I rely on Him, for His is my strong tower.
