Kennady Speaks

grouchetta

Kennady said her first official word and it was Spanish. It is a good thing she is surrounded at church with all those Spanish speakers!

My parents took her on a special trip to Sesame Street at the Erwin Center. They were on the first row and interacted with many different characters. At one point, Rosita had the whole crowd learn ‘hola!’ When she asked the crowd to say hola, Kennady said it clearly and distinctly. My parents were shocked.

So, if you want to talk with Kennady, you need to learn Spanish and talk to her about Elmo. This will get her warmed up! May this just be the beginning.

Creative Church Conference

cccThis week, I will be leaving the blogging sector Wed-Fri.  I apologize to all of you in advance.

But, the absence is for a good cause.  Several leaders from our church and I will be heading to Dallas for Ed Young’s Creative Pastor’s Conference.  He is a trend setter for presenting the message of God in a practical way. So, we will be hearing from him and other leaders like Brian Houston (from Hillsong), Tommy Barnett, my friend: Mac Richard and my favorite: TD Jakes!

I will see you at church this weekend, and here at the blog next week!

Here We Go!

Message for MYCHURCH:

John Ragsdale spoke Saturday night that we need to “step into the river”.  Though it might be rushing water, it will part when the ‘priests’ step in.

So, we are renting Hays Performing Arts center March 23, 2008 11am for our Easter Service!

We are creating more seats at the table.  We want to serve the bread of life to as many as we can.

We need your help in Inviting, Preparing, and Presenting the BREAD of LIFE!

This weekend we had 667 people worship with us.  The Hays Performing Arts Center holds 985.  Therefore, we are looking for 400 hungry peopleLETS DO IT!

I had a good valentines day

ericaI want to brag on my wife.  For one thing, she says Valentine’s Day is crazy and doesn’t want me to spend money.  So, I knew that I must still do something to show my love.  What could I do?  Well, on Thursday nights she teaches Childbirth classes at church.  I decided to join her class last night.

I had never seen her teach and was so proud of her skills.  She has a passion for helping women give birth and care for their newborns.  For years she has been pursuing the dream of becoming a midwife and through these Childbirth classes, she is progressing toward that ultimate goal.

It is so rewarding to see someone doing what they love and were called to do.  It makes them easy to listen to and be around.   The passion is contagious and the information sticks with you.

Everyone check out her blog and let’s set a record for her “visits”:  http://completechildbirth.wordpress.com

The sign of my life

Driving on Lime Kiln Road these days you come across construction.  They are widening the lanes, and we are all appreciative of this move.
A week ago, I saw a sign they put up and it spoke to me.  It is the sign of my life.  I hope it continues to be.  In both statements, it says so much.
