The sign of my life

Driving on Lime Kiln Road these days you come across construction.  They are widening the lanes, and we are all appreciative of this move.
A week ago, I saw a sign they put up and it spoke to me.  It is the sign of my life.  I hope it continues to be.  In both statements, it says so much.

  1. I am a work in progress.
I desire the fresh presence of God.
(oil is referenced as Holy Spirit throughout Bible)

  2. Pastor, I know that the first sign is a permanent sign in my life and I pray that the second sign will be too.

  3. People drive through construction all the time complaining, about the trouble it causes, or why it has to take so long. Those who do this, myself included, fail to see the benifit at the time of the inconvience. We spend time grumbling and moaning about the bumps and stops. What we dont pay attention to, is the benifit it is going to be when completed. Nor for the time that we are able to seclude ourselves from the hustle and bustle and just breathe. So I see it with God, and His “ways”. He “detours” us in our lives, takes us away from our norm, and in doing so, we will pass right by signs as this. If are not Spiritually minded, and walking readily equiped in His spirit, we will do nothing other than grumble right past them. We must choose to observe the signs, we must be ready for the detours, we must encourage the strife for these are the weakness that will make us strong. Strong in Him. Look for the detours in life.

  4. Joshua, great to hear from you!

  5. I guess I have to stop driving around the oil afraid I`ll get on my car. For now on I`ll just plow right thru it as i need and want all the oil I can get.!
    Holy Ghost oil !!!
Isn`t that what a lot of us do.go around as we are afraid of what we will get into ?
    Welcome back Josh

  6. It is good to hear from you, Joshua & from you, Michelle, yesterday. I will stop grumbling during the construction “stops”, and start praying during them for God to continue His work in me!!!

  7. Bishop Tudor Bismark says that oil represents anointing. Remember, you can get anointing on top of anointing, like Aaron’s son. When they anointed Aaron’s son, they took Aaron’s coat, which had Aaron’s anointing (from when he was anoited as the high priest and oil ran down his beard onto that coat) and put it on his son and then anoited the son… There are seasons when fresh anointing is applied over the existing anointing.

  8. weighing the cost, Wynnel. I remember weighing the cost for a while, not even knowing anything about a Holy Ghost. I had to ask for directions from the unknown God when I was ready to take the plunge. He told me, “Go there and get baptized in My Name and I will give you what you need.” I wouldn’t trade nothing for my journey now…………..

  9. Sis Ann that last verse sounds like a song to me.!
I just want to make it to heaven some how.

I want to hear from you! Let's hear it....ready....GO!!!
