I am in MEXICO
I am in Mexico today and tomorrow, so I won’t be blogging. See you on Sunday!
I am checking out an orphanage that we might be helping out. Would you be interested in helping out down here?

FRIDAY!
I have gone fishing with another San Marcos pastor, Tom Ray of Hill Country Church.
Last night at PromiseLand, nine of us met with San Marcos mayor, Susan Narvaiz. Thanks to those nine. We were informed and had a chance to speak.
Go check out John Ragsdale’s new blog. Give him a comment! http://johnrags.wordpress.com/

PromiseLand Update
It is Monday, and I am looking for the direction God takes this week. How about you?
Don’t get too bogged down in the everyday tasks and not see His vision for your life.
- This week, we have activity going on upstairs, we are working on the Upper Room. Some final touches are being put on the doors. We are also meeting with a decor team. Soon, we will have the Upper Room complete with sound and projection systems and decor.
- We were told last week that our parking lot lighting was going to be delivered. Well, we are still waiting. When it gets here, we will have a lighted parking lot and lighted sign (out by the road).
- We are also making the final touches to our Saturday worship service. We ordering some cool, green shirts that say “I go to church on Saturday”. We are going through the stack of surveys where people volunteered for serving on Saturdays.
- Thursday is our meeting with San Marcos Mayor, Susan Narvaiz. She wants to meet with our church so we can tell her how the city should plan their budget. You can join us at 7pm, childcare will be provided.
- We are adding up the results for the 2007 Guest Contest and will let everyone know the results soon. Our church did real well against the other churches.
- Tonight is the final session of “Financial Peace University”. I can’t wait to hear about the debt that has already been eliminated.
Our church is on the move. Are you moving along with us?

Friday Night Lights

Last night, Hollywood came to the PromiseLand (Austin, that is). At our church in Austin, we hosted the NBC hit show “Friday Night Lights”. It was cool to see all the production that went into shooting the scenes. But, the really cool part was how good our church is. In a world where they have to shoot take after take of the same scene, our pastor and musicians nailed it the first time. I guess because they weren’t acting. They were worshiping, and thankfully at PromiseLand that isn’t fake. The episode is coming out in October 07.

high water warning
Here is the link to the warning system for Hays County Roads. You will soon see a green dot at the bridge on Lime Kiln. It shows the “real time” water height at the bridge. Not sure if this helps or hurts our communication process. What do you think?
