PromiseLand Update
It is Monday, and I am looking for the direction God takes this week. How about you?
Don’t get too bogged down in the everyday tasks and not see His vision for your life.
- This week, we have activity going on upstairs, we are working on the Upper Room. Some final touches are being put on the doors. We are also meeting with a decor team. Soon, we will have the Upper Room complete with sound and projection systems and decor.
- We were told last week that our parking lot lighting was going to be delivered. Well, we are still waiting. When it gets here, we will have a lighted parking lot and lighted sign (out by the road).
- We are also making the final touches to our Saturday worship service. We ordering some cool, green shirts that say “I go to church on Saturday”. We are going through the stack of surveys where people volunteered for serving on Saturdays.
- Thursday is our meeting with San Marcos Mayor, Susan Narvaiz. She wants to meet with our church so we can tell her how the city should plan their budget. You can join us at 7pm, childcare will be provided.
- We are adding up the results for the 2007 Guest Contest and will let everyone know the results soon. Our church did real well against the other churches.
- Tonight is the final session of “Financial Peace University”. I can’t wait to hear about the debt that has already been eliminated.
Our church is on the move. Are you moving along with us?

Knowing exactly what God wants me to do in all aspects of my life is sometimes hard to determine. The clarity with which God speaks to me, is directly related to how much clutter I have allowed in my life. Home responsibilities, work, recreational activities, friends, etc. all are important, but will take their slice of time and attention. It is only a structured time of devotion each morning where I clear out my head and tune into His plan and purpose, that brings order to my day and an understanding of his will for my life.
I know exactly what your saying Mr. Rob. I think so much of it has to do with what Pastor enlightened us on concerning appetite. We have so much in our lives, that feeds our flesh. Just because it feeds our flesh, does not mean that it has to be something bad. Just as a cookie taste sweet, it is only in excess that it can cause harm. So it is with all of this stuff we take on in life. It is all good, but done in excess and it causes a disconnect with the Spirit. I am spiritualy working on eating proper portions. I think in doing so I will crave less junk food, and more protein!Metaphorically speaking…….
Well, we have the results to the guest contest, but we are keeping them a secret. i can tell you a couple of stats.
we had 416 total guests. they were brought by 91 people. There were 47 guests that we are unsure who brought them. (name wasn’t on card) or is said “mom”, “daughter”, etc. The difference between First place and Second place was 43 guests. WOW.
It is exciting what all is happening at and in our church. I love that new pic on the blog. What a gorgeous girl!!!! You just have to love that infectious laugh which comes ever so often!
Pastor, the unclaimed guest are Michael’s and mine; remember the dedication, 🙂
What a beautiful picture of a lovely girl, she inspires me! God Bless
nice try vera!
