The Longhorns lost on Saturday

Wait a minute!  They didn’t lose!

Oh, yes they did.  They lost in the punting, kicking, and field goal categories!  But there was 1 category where they did win…the score.

So, there is only one category that really matters.  Do you have more points than the other teams.  All your other stats can be up or down.

Focus on the most important category.  Capitalize on the golden opportunities of today!  Pray to God, “Please show me, reveal to me the needs I am to fulfill.  Guide me with your Holy Spirit.”

Only what I do for Christ will last.  That is the only thing on the scoreboard.

When we make mistakes…

MVWhen we make mistakes, Jesus is there to forgive us. It is our priviledge to find Him.

Michael Vick spoke out about his involvement in dog fighting the other day.

He said, “I’m upset with myself and, you know, through this situation I found Jesus and asked him for forgiveness and turned my life over to God,” he said in a statement on Monday. “I think that’s the right thing to do as of right now.”

Did he say what I think he just said…”I think that’s the right thing to do as of right now.” ???? I hope this was taken out of context because this statement erases everything before it. Forgiveness comes with commitment. It is not a “as of right now”.

It is not only the right thing to do now, but it is the right thing to do everyday. Can I get an amen?
I pray he finds more revelation through this process and people will come his way with more insight.

Hopefully, it was a slip up, and he didn’t mean it. Kind of like Miss South Carolina. Well, we won’t go there…

Heaven

We get so focused on trying to live life to its fullest here on Earth that we forget our eternal prize.  It awaits us even when it is the furtherest thing from our minds.  A life where there is no pain or suffering.  No death.  No correction.  Let’s pray, “Maranatha!”  This means “Come ever so quickly Lord Jesus.”  The Bible says to pray this prayer.  Lord come and take us home.  This world is not my home, I am only passing through.

How much will you pay for a toothbrush?

We paid $1.84 for a toothbrush last night, and then it hit me.   How crazy is this?  We pay $4 for a coffee at Starbucks (which rots our teeth) and it lasts 15min.  We pay $25 for a dinner at a restuarant.

The toothbrush lasts for…what…3-4 months?  It saves you literally thousands in medical bills and we pay $1.84 for it.  My point is that you would probably pay $10 for a toothbrush if they asked that much.  $10 every 4 months to protect your dental history.  Brushing your teeth also gets a kiss from your spouse!

But, we don’t see it that way.  We look at a piece of plastic with brissles and say, “What a rip off!  I can’t believe they are charging $1.84 for something that probably cost .12 to make!”

Moral of the story?  Be grateful that you have teeth, you live in a country where you can buy new toothbrushes and they don’t cost $10.  On the other hand, wake up to all the overpriced stuff you buy without a second glance.

ps.  shouldn’t they be called teethbrushes?
