When we make mistakes…

MVWhen we make mistakes, Jesus is there to forgive us. It is our priviledge to find Him.

Michael Vick spoke out about his involvement in dog fighting the other day.

He said, “I’m upset with myself and, you know, through this situation I found Jesus and asked him for forgiveness and turned my life over to God,” he said in a statement on Monday. “I think that’s the right thing to do as of right now.”

Did he say what I think he just said…”I think that’s the right thing to do as of right now.” ???? I hope this was taken out of context because this statement erases everything before it. Forgiveness comes with commitment. It is not a “as of right now”.

It is not only the right thing to do now, but it is the right thing to do everyday. Can I get an amen?
I pray he finds more revelation through this process and people will come his way with more insight.

Hopefully, it was a slip up, and he didn’t mean it. Kind of like Miss South Carolina. Well, we won’t go there…

  1. Pastor, I feel Vick made the typical statement when one is in desperate need, will he forget Jesus when he gets out of the situation? Maybe, Christians need to hold him accountable for the statement and his Christian athletes aaist him in keeping Jesus alive in his heart or lead him to resources to become more aware and mature of Jesus. I hope he will become a spokeperson for Jesus!

  2. Michael Vick? Never heard of him. I as well hope it was just a mis-placed word whoever he is. Pastor you must read the news stands at the store check outs or something, ahahah.
Your right as rain Pastor, We need to really figure out as the church, how we can get across to people that this decision, is not a “right now” answer, but a honored decision for eternity, once the human mind can even grasp a piece of this, there will be not a chance for taking a detour when the road less traveled gets a little tight. I once heard someone say, “that integrity, is doing the right thing, when no one is looking”. We must press on. There is no, “as of right now”. I will stop rambling now.

  3. OJ Simpson found some good lawyers, Bill Clinton found a political system, and Michael Vick found Jesus. Hmmm, I wonder why the guilty are always victims and the self disciplined are cynical.

  4. I pray for Michael Vick. I pray that this negative press goes away from the game of football. I pray that children who look up to athletes such as Michael Vick learn to look up to Jesus Christ first because He won’t let you down. I pray that Vick does find Jesus and then turn this whole thing around into something glorious … anything is possible.

  5. You do get AMEN over and over again from me!!!!!! It IS right now and right now should become FOREVER!!!!

  6. I really pray that he found Jesus through this situation and is not trying to get out of it because he found Jesus. There was a situation close to this that happen in my past with my ex-husband. He got in trouble and before he went to court he found Jesus, but he expected Jesus to clear him. After the court hearing he asked me why God didn’t get him out of the trouble he was in. I just explained to him that Jesus forgave him of his crime but there was still consequences for what he did.

Also, I noticed that when he told the courts and officers that he was a changed man because he found Jesus, they had no respect for it. It’s sad to think of how many people do this if it has no effect.

  7. God is able and your prayers move mountains. May our God bless us all with a burden for this man’s soul, this one man’s soul. May we feel it so profoundly in our Holy Ghost that it makes us cry out in travailing pain.

I want to hear from you! Let's hear it....ready....GO!!!
