Spiritual Success

We are basking in a great moment of spiritual success.

Friday night we started an 36 hour journey of spiritual breakthrough and healing.  It was exhaustive.  Some of us went through 8 different messages, countless worship songs and prayers.  The first 24 hours focused on men.  We dealt with the brokenness of American Men.  We are broken because of a soulless capitalism that plagues our minds.  We assess our values based on our bank accounts and our powerful positions (or lack thereof).  However, there is a remnant of men at PSM that were cut loose from that lie.  They were disconnected from the matrix of society and its judgements.

Fair warning to wives:  you will see some immediate results, however this is a healing process.  It takes a while for full recovery.  The Holy Spirit is being allowed to ‘do a work’.  Wayne Neyland and Jonathan Moore challenged and motivated us to be mighty men.

During our regular services, Rudy Rodriguez brought a beautiful word.  Instead of waiting for the storms to pass, we need to learn to dance in the rain.  When you can dance in the rain, you are able to maintain/sustain sanity. Overcome the onslaught of the enemy.

After the message, the altars were packed with people desiring to dance in the rain.  For the first time in months, I was able to walk through the crowd of people and pray with individuals.  Many were set free by the power of God.  You could physically see the release of fear and anxiety off of men and women.

These are examples of spiritual success.  I want to focus more and more on ‘quality of life’ at PromiseLand.  I believe that is where true spiritual success lies.  Please don’t misunderstand.  I am not saying quality of riches, houses, cars, material wealth.  I am talking about a life full of the Fruit of the Spirit.  We are spiritually successful when the Fruit of the Spirit is in full bloom.  Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Goodness, Kindness, Meekness, Self Control.

Across the flock this weekend, I could see people blooming.  Let’s stop and be thankful for that.

Men’s Summit

I am fired up about the Men’s Summit this weekend!!  If you are a man, get there.  If you know a man…get him there!

Even if one man can catch the fire, it will be well worth it.  I am going to be posting glimpses of the message conveyed on Friday and Saturday on the blog here.  Hopefully, it will get more men interested.  (men are so messed up, that we either think we aren’t messed up or we don’t think there is any hope) WRONG.

Today’s Nugget:

“A healthy male points to the unique gifts that God gave him and defines success as the extent to which he maximizes those gifts rather than the extent to which he erases those gifts to conform to a uniform standard of success.” – Rabbi Boteach

Sacrifice

Someone defined sacrifice as “giving up something you love for something you love even more.”

This week we’ll talk about the honor of sacrificing for the glory of God in ministry.

* Do you love reaching people far from God enough to allow some people to leave your church?

* Do you believe in your vision enough to receive criticism from those in your own denomination?

* Do you love reaching teens so much that many adults reject your style of ministry?

* Do you love serving Jesus so much you’ll give up some of life’s comforts to do what God has called you to do?

* Do you love Jesus so much you’re willing to be rejected by your friends because you’re very different from the rest of the world?

What do you love so much that you’re willing to sacrifice for it?

Easter Guest

Here is an email we received this week.  All the Glory goes to Jesus Christ!

“My family and I attended your Easter service and i just wanted to let you all know how impressed we were !!! Glory and Praise to all your staff, starting with the friendly people in the parking lot, to all your greeters and your church members. When i entered through the door into the main service room, i felt a tingle go up and down my spine. My mouth dropped in astonishment, the whole place was just awesome. I told myself, Jesus Christ is truly here !!! The whole service was out of this world and all that you all did to make it one of the best experiences i’ve ever had. Again, congratulations to all your church for all the hard work to benefit us. May God continue to Bless Promiseland !!!!!”
