IKE is coming our way
Several years ago, hurricane Rita was headed our way and we all prepared. In the end, all we got was some drizzling rain. Now, ‘Ike’ is making his move toward the Texas coast. If this hurricane hits around Corpus Christi, and then turns north, we wil be in the path. This could mean thousands of evacuees would be entering San Marcos.
How can our church be ready to assist in this situation? Give us ideas.
We are creating a webpage on our church site that will address these issues and keep everyone informed on a regular basis.
Thanks for your help.

We’re clueless…. Does anyone know anyone who needs something? Should we get some bottled water together, offer shelter, prepare some IV bags, buy some live chickens???

They are sheltered at the old Bowie Elementary. I was thinking we could hold Bible studies with them and/or church service one evening. We had a fair for them today informing them of services available in SM. Many people were asking about churches. I handed out Promiseland SM cards. However, many of them do not have the transportation, gas $ or clothes to feel comfortable enough to GO. Can we bring church to them?
