Got any Good ideas?

tax1I read in the Austin American Statesman this morning that our Rebate checks will be in the mail by May.  This is an effort by our government to stimulate our economy.  So, if you are a tax payer, you will be getting approx. $600 per adult in your house and $300 per kid.  (the Armstrongs are going to rake it in!)  I figure that is around $2100 for my family.

What should we do with the money?

When I say ‘we’, I mean all of us, not just my family.

After our tithe, we will be putting it into our savings. After taking Dave Ramsey Financial Peace university, we are still working on our nest egg to put aside in case of emergency. The money will really be a help. we are only one child behind the Armstrongs.

  2. Pastor Dan uses “give aways” to stimulate teens to come to church. The federal government is doing the same thing on a giant scale to stimulate people to spend money, which should cause the economy to expand. In their infinite wisdom, the politicians have decided that the folks that earned the money are not spending it fast enough so they must redistribute the wealth to people who will spend it faster. On a personal note, I intend to reduce debt and pay off my tractor.

  3. Hmmmm, I guess he is paying on his tractor with his rebate (see above reply). 🙂 I’m not sure about my part. I like Elizabeth’s response. God is always first. Then the remainder—savings sounds good OR maybe I’ll help ole Rob out. I had forgotten we are even getting anything. That is so unusual.

  4. I’m gonna buy me a guitar and start me a rock-n-roll band……………….

  5. Elizabeth, that will go a long way with all your kids! We will be doing something along the same lines. we are paying off our van and will have no more payments! we are excited about that!

Anne, Let me know how that goes!

Dad, good perspective on the redistribution. That doesn’t sound too good. the further I move away from debt, the more I realize how much the govt takes out of our checks. It seems my generation simply thinks it is the govt’s money to do with whatever they want.

  6. We haven’t talked about what we’ll use ours for, but we’re having a baby in July. So $1500 will sure come in handy for paying for the mother & baby care at the birth (hospital or birth center) and/or other baby necessities.

  7. Judy, we have realized that with each kid comes better tax relief. Keep going!

  8. First Iam giving to God , then Iam putting the rest away for a hot sunny day !!!!

  9. Oh……. and I want to go set on the porch with Ann and listen to her play that ole guitar . Just maybe I`ll sang while she plays. yeal wright !!

I want to hear from you! Let's hear it....ready....GO!!!
