Good News about Kennady
For the last nine and a half years, we have received either negative news or no news on our daughter, Kennady’s brain development. (click here for her story from birth). That changed today.
We go annually to the Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas for a special Neurologist to see her. Dr. Delgado specializes in kids with her condition (HPE or Holoprosencephaly). Today, when he saw her latest brain scans, he was surprised and very thrilled to see the positive development of her brain. Not only has it grown, but it has started dividing into 2 sections. When she was born, her brain was not divided at all (right and left side). It is now starting to have a clear division between the two and he said that they are going to have to CHANGE her official diagnosis.
We have not seen tremendous change in our physical or mental responses. However, her teachers (they are awesome!) have said that she is communicating some with the equipment they use.

Guest Contest is BACK
Our Summer Guest contest is back at PromiseLand San Marcos and I can’t wait to see tons of new faces in our congregation. For 8 weeks, our church focuses intently on inviting new people to Sunday services. June 12th-July 31st – Friends, co-workers, students, neighbors, family. Invite them. Think of creative reasons and ways to get them to the church. Free meals after church, dedicate your kids, get baptized, renew your vows, bribe them…:) There are many ways and reasons, however, probably the best is a simple invitation. You would be surprised how many of your contacts are simply waiting for you to invite them.

I love finding old documents in my computer. I stumbled across this one from June 2003. I emailed this to our 4 elders of the church before our first ever service! The purpose was to lay our their responsibilities during our worship service.
Wow! We have come a long way!
Invocation for Hays County Commissioners Court
Here is the prayer I prayed at Hays county commissioners court today.
“God, we open this meeting today by asking your Divine favor and blessing to be in our midst. Thank you for the elected officials and community that is represented here today. May we have your insight, hindsight and foresight to lead this great county and it’s cities to a higher level. Lord, we pray for rain today. Our land is dry and thirsty and needing your intervention. We pray for these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.”
