PSM Playground!
We are researching our Playground options. Erica has nominated herself as our official rep with the vendors. She has met and talked with about 5 or 6 different playground companies. The quotes and ideas are flooding in.
The bottomline is that our facility is perfect for a beautiful and FUN playground. Those that have come out here have said that our location is great. We want to create a playground that is exciting and safe. We don’t want to go half way. So, we are calling on the “saints” of PSM to pitch in and help out. There were be some more construction days for us to put in labor, but the main thing will be for financial support. As soon as the final numbers and schedules come out, we will post them.
As TD Jakes would say, “Get READY, Get READY, Get READY!!!!!”

ps. Jude had his fourth birthday party on Sunday evening; when his guests started arriving, he was telling them all that his name was TD Jakes. I have no idea where this came from.
Scripture Keys
While praying with people this weekend, I recommended “Scripture Keys for Kingdom Living”. It is a small but powerful prayer tool. Scriptures are grouped in categories that are relevant to 2008 issues. I have used this book to pray scriptures. If you haven’t seen or heard of it and are looking for a great tool in your prayer time, then use Scripture Keys.

Hats in Church
People wearing hats in church is a weird deal. While growing up it was forbidden for men to wear hats in church, but women were able to wear them with ease and honor. The styles of the hats were different and women’s hats were specifically designed for “dress up” occasions. If a guy wore a Cowboy hat or a baseball hat that was considered disrespectful.
Over time the lines between the hats and the sexes have blurred. There are many more styles of hats than there used to be. Men wear hats as fashion statements. Women wear baseball caps and cowboys hats. Dress codes in churches have relaxed somewhat.
I hear statements like “no hats in church”, “if women get to wear hats, shouldn’t men get to also”, “that hat is ok”, “that hat is worn the wrong way”.
Today, what defines respectful hat-wearing in church?

Jonnie Wilson
Friday, I went to a special luncheon honoring several women from Texas State. I was invited by Jonnie Wilson, who was one of 8 honorees. The president of the University was there, the mayor (both of whom are women). It was a huge deal!
I am so proud and honored to know Jonnie Wilson. I love her because
- she loves God
- she serves God
- she loves diversity
- she is a wonderful mother (and Grandmother)
- she is a hard worker
- she has overcome a stroke, severe asthma, and who knows what else
- she has a master’s degree
- she works at Texas State
- She loves me and my family

WOW
Please forgive my blogging delinquency yesterday. We had an action packed day around here on Tuesday.
For one thing: we had 146 new volunteers for Easter Weekend! That was incredible. We are trying to assimilate everyone effectively. I am heading to Austin this morning for a video shoot. I will post that when it is complete.
Talk to you soon!
