NEW YEAR NEW LOOK

The time has come to CHANGE. I need it and well…we all do. This site change is much cleaner, simpler, and hopefully will accent the new blog attitude.

Blogs here in 2009 will be different than years past. I am going to focus on fewer and longer blogs this year. I will put more effort and thought into each one. Therefore, there will be less blogs because I don’t have any more time than usual. SO, the idea is to generate more discussion each day through deeper topics and conversations. Let’s see how it goes. An example of what I am talking about is the 2yr without Cable Blog.

So, I hope you come along for the ride and discuss great ideas, Biblical concepts, and of course funny diversions.

Jan 10/11 Weekend

This past weekend at PSM was a landmark. We experienced the largest crowd we ever had (non-holiday). We had right at 740 people. At the 11 o’clock alone, we had 405! That is maximum capacity for our building. We count men, women, boys, girls, crickets, spiders, and anything else that moves. However, if we count them, then they have to participate in worship…

We rolled out our coffee bar for the first time and it was a huge hit. I think we served around 150 drinks over three services. Our barristas (coffee creators) are just getting the hang of it. I think they did real well for the first time. Starting this coming weekend we will ask for a $2 donation for a basic latte. More shots extra will be more $$. We had some people asking for triple shots. If that continues, I better see some BIG ACTION during worship. NO SLEEPING during sermons!! I am thinking of dropping decaff beans in there and seeing if people can tell the difference. What do you think?

More than all the above excitement, we had some powerful prayer sessions during all three services. Our time around the altar after praise and worship brought healing and peace to many people. I encourage everyone to come to the front during these times to find refreshment from God. Take the hand of another believer and allow God to take over. Declare that this is “the acceptable year of the Lord.” You will be hearing more of that when John Ragsdale comes in MARCH! (how about that little nugget)

The Final Push

Our church has filled 54 shifts for the Salvation Bell ringing campaign!  There is ‘no tellin’ how many dollars have been raised for the needy of San Marcos. However…

THERE ARE ONLY 6 SHIFTS remaining this weekend that have not been filled.  This is the last weekend and the final push.  So, we only need 6 more people to fill these shifts.  2 people per shift is best, though.  At any rate, we need help.

MEXICO BOUND

This morning our church staff is loading a couple of vans and we are all heading south of the border for a STAFF MISSIONARY trip.  It will be a great time for us and those we are seeing.  We will be giving gifts to needy families and painting a house.  Pray for our trip!

I wont be talking to you here on the blog for a couple of days, but will be posting tweets.  So, you can check that column on the right to get updates of our trip.

see you this weekend!!
