Multiple Options
On my way out of church yesterday, I saw a man turn onto Lime Kiln Road from Post Rd in a 2007 white Mercedez convertible. Immediately, I was thinking about the man’s status and how cool the car was. He was about 53 years old.
Why did I think that this man was ‘worth’ something? Then I thought, how would I consider this man if I saw him turning the corner in a beat up 1983 Toyota Corolla.
Same man in a different car? Or would that be a different man in a different car?
About five minutes later I saw a man driving a 2001 white Chrysler Sebring convertible. He was about 38 years old. This car is not close to the status of the first one.
How many options can you come up with as to why these men are in the status they are?

Lets become like kids
Tuesday, Erica got a call from one of Kennady’s teachers saying she needed some financial help with bills. Erica said, “sure” and then proceeded to think of a way to come up with the money. She thought, “it would be great if we had it just laying around.” About that time, Jude walked into the room with some change in his hand and said, “mom, lets give this money to Kennady’s teacher so that she can buy food.”
Erica had not told Jude anything before this.
Erica could not believe what she was hearing. They went into Jude’s room and looked at his coin jar and she said, “Do you want to give this to Kennady’s teacher?” Jude replied, “Yeah, sure.” There was a lot of money in that jar. She proceeded to tell him about how God was going to bless him.
Of course, Jude doesn’t know the value of money, but that is the point. God told him to do something and he said, “yeah, sure.”

Our Queen
In a culture where we are quick to reveal the flaws of our youth, I want to take the opportunity to flaunt the opposite. One of our own, Niki Sullivan, was crowned Homecoming Queen of Lehman High School 2007! Niki is an outstanding example for others to follow. She has a beautiful smile and it is obvious that her light is shining brightly at Lehman.
Congratulations, Niki. We are proud of you!
