This Picture Fires Me Up!

The artist element of this picture is very lame. The lighting is not that great.  Most of the people aren’t looking at the camera.  It doesn’t represent eye-popping, ground breaking ministry style.  However, there is a secret about this picture that speaks volumes.

Look in the bottom right corner.  6/22/03  That was our third official service for PromiseLand San Marcos.  The group of people behind the table were our official ‘greeters’ for that service.  (notice nametags).

So, what fires me up?

Every one of these people still attend PromiseLand San Marcos.  Five of the seven still serve in a ministry (some of them serve in multiple ministries).  I will also mention that each one of them looks better now than then.  Time has been good to them.

To me this represents the power of serving and the strength of our team overall.  It is encouraging to know that people stick with the family in different seasons and times.  These people hold a special place in my life (mainly because they sat through a lot of bad sermons and let me learn in front of them).  We have so many great memories together.
