PRESEASON

Preseason has caught on fire.  There are so many awesome parallels to the work of God and Football training camp, it is crazy.

This past Sunday we studied Hebrews 12:1-17.  We are running a race and we need to get in shape!  Don’t let anything get in our way.  Get rid of the weight and sin that so easily entangles us.  We need to prepare for what God has in store for us.  Verses 12-15 talk of specific issues we need to address.

This coming week we are talking about our POSITION on the field.  What role will we play?  I just read a quote from Bret Favre on espn.com.  He had a team meeting where he spoke to his fellow teammates about blabbing their mouths to the press.  He said, “If something is being said in here — by whoever, it’s got to stop. It’s hard enough to win as it is…”  When a 40+ year old quarterback gets in your face and tells you that, then you better listen.  He is not here for anything but to WIN the games.

Distractions must cease.  We can not keep shooting ourselves in the feet with dumb mistakes.  FOCUS.  Stop lolly gagging!

It’s time to run the race for Jesus Christ and win!
