My seat for “sermon prep”
I am currently heading to preach in SanAntonio and blogging with my cell phone. Please excuse the grammatical errors.
I am sitting in the very back of the van because of van is packed with our new foster kids. It is cramped, my back is hurting, the AC is designed to cool back here. It’s hot.
I was worried that my sermon would suffer because my normal routine has been severely trashed. However, the more I think about it, this could be the best sermon prep. Sacrificing yourself for others seems like the position you want to be in before preaching. I will let you know how it goes…

Many of you know that John’s brother, Joshua, has been fighting leukemia for almost a year now. I just received a message that Joshua passed away at 6:15am this morning. I am not sure Joshua’s age, but he and I are right around the same age (early 30s). He was an extremely talented song writer and singer. He was working in Nashville with some of the big name producers and artists.
Now, the Ragsdale family is walking through the valley of the shadow of death, but we all know that GOD is with them. We must be with them too. During this time, John has been unable to work (travel and minister), so his personal finances have taken a hit. If you are able, you can send some assistance. I love John and Kristin so much. It hurts me to see them go through such a tough time.

Speaking Engagements
Well, I have been asked by two churches to speak in July. I wanted to post the info here in case anyone wants to join me in the journey. All are welcome. Here are the options.
1. Covenant Life Center | Victoria, TX – Pastor Bobby Rivera – July 16th-17th -(Fri-Sat) This event is a conference and I will be speaking Saturday morning at 10am. However, a group of us is going Friday night to hear Scott Jones speak. If you are interested in going, then you can book a room at Holiday Inn Express 111 Huvar Street. 2. Hill Country Tabernacle of Praise | Burnet, TX – Pastor James East – Fri. July 23rd. This event is also a multi-night event. They are celebrating 5 years as pastors of this church.
