With much anticipation

I am getting excited about the upcoming weekend.  We are going to start where we left off last weekend.  For those of you that didn’t make it, we talked about and experienced greater VISION.  A vision of who God is and a vision of who we are influences our future.

We need to welcome a new vision of our future.  We need to welcome a new vision of who God is.  Habakkuk 2:2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

I encourage you to start writing down your dreams from God.  Journal your thoughts about where God is taking you in 2008 and beyond.  Start thinging about 10 and 15 years down the road.

VISION– where you are going
PURPOSE– why you are going
GOALS– how you are going to get there

We serve a GREAT, MIGHTY, ALL POWERFUL Creator.  He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Ephesians 3:20

With much appreciation!

Erica and I want to recognize several families that made our trip a success. To all the people that donated money, we greatly appreciate you. We don’t know who you are…it was not revealed to us. But, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

To the Krauss Family, Abbie Cole, Lizzy and Catherine Reivelle, Rob and Kathy Steele a HUGE thanks goes to you. (they took care of our three kids.) Our kids are complicated with medications, school trips, feeding tubes, allergies, etc. All of you did a fine job and we are pleased that you offered willingly. To the Lowery family…thank you for offering! (They were scheduled and were unable to finish the task because one of their kids got sick.)

THANK YOU!!!

I want to take you here

ski6

ski7

This is where I skied on Wednesday afternoon. Very challenging. Exhilarating. Rewarding.

I don’t want to take you to this physical ski slope. However, as I was riding up the chair lift, I was thinking…what if we could go here Spiritually. A higher place. There are prerequisites before entering the territory. To get to these levels, changes might have to be made in your life. New Levels in 2008. Where ‘the best’ go. I am expecting God to lead us into some special places. In order to “flesh out” this analogy, I need to put a lot of work and writing into it. I am on vacation, please forgive me.

Are you ready to go?

We have homework to do

Here we are at the beginning of a mudslinging year. Republicans are ripping each other. Democrats are biting each others backs. In a few months when the primaries are over, they will be kissing and making up. Second and Third place finishers will be eager to know if they will be the Vice Presidential candidate.

I read online this morning that this is the first US presidential election since 1928 in which neither the president nor the vice-president is standing in the primaries, seeking re-election. Bush faces term limits and Chenney is not interested.

I am going over the candidates and trying to see who I thing would represent me the most. Who do I think would run our Country the best possible way? To be serious about picking the best President, I must go beyond the beauty contest of television commercials and debates. I must start with what I believe, and what I stand for.

I have had to decide what I believe is right for border security, the War in Iraq, terrorism, health care, moral issues, ethical issues, etc. Then, I have to try and find a candidate that reflects those beliefs. Who is the closest to what I believe.

Unfortunately, I think most Americans decide on a candidate, by “gut feeling”. Which one looks, acts, dresses, presents themselves, the most professional, clean cut, polished, whitest smile, perfect hair. We don’t even know what we believe, we don’t research and give it that much thought.

Just wanted to get you thinking about it early. The Texas primaries are March 4th.

Pray, Fast, Read

It is so interesting how nothing really changes tonight. The clock strikes midnight and a new year is born. We chunk the old calendar and hang up the new one (after we have transposed the important dates).

Mentally, this gives us a fresh start. This is healthy and good. I have no problems with it. I use the new calendar to refresh my goals, analyze how things went last year, read over my journals, plan out schemes for new dreams.

I commit to praying, fasting, and reading the Bible in 2008. I want everything to be laid on that foundation. I know that if my relationship with Jesus Christ is intimate, it will make me a better husband, father, teacher, lover, friend.

I am excited about your quest for intimacy with God also.  How will this effect the peripheries of your life? Intimacy with God can do nothing but improve and empower you.
