Merry Christmas to You!
We are all preparing for a beautiful holiday this week and next. I pray that the Prince of Peace is alive and well in your daily life. May you be a light to your family and friends. I love each and every one of you. You are a blessing to me. I am counting each one this season. Our family is so blessed.
Love,
Robin
We Lost Our Sheriff
Please pray for our community as we mourn the loss of our Sheriff, Allen Bridges.
He died on Saturday after collapsing at home. The Funeral service is Wednesday, 10am at First Baptist Church in San Marcos.
When I think of the impact of the modern-day sheriff, his or her role is often minimized in our generation. Most sheriffs are managers of large organizations that fulfill PR, Human Resources, CEO, and other business type functions. However, when I think back to the way sheriffs began in the Old West, the role seems so much more revered and exciting. I picture John Wayne or Wyatt Earp type characters slinging 6-shooters at wild gunmen and cattle rustlers.
If we could see the mess that modern-day deputies and other peace officers save us from, we would probably be amazed and much more thankful for their role.
Today, we will be honoring the office and the man. Thousands will gather to pay their respects. I have heard reports that the procession will be at least a mile with just patrol cars. Not to mention all the others making the long trip down RR12.
Thanks to all of you who put your life on the line to protect us. We appreciate your service to our community!

Have you received the best Christmas Gift of all time? Acts 2:38 talks about this gift. It says, “Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the Name of Jesus Christ and you shall RECEIVE the GIFT of the Holy Ghost.”
Acts is such a cool book because it takes the foundational truths of the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) and shows us how every day life looks when we live by those truths.
Tonight, we are going to be talking about and praying about receiving this gift. I hope you are ready for the Gift of the Holy Spirit. It is the gift that keeps on giving. Even those who have received before can receive a fresh touch of God.

Missed Opportunities
Check out this video of Joshua Bell playing at a Washington DC subway station. He played for 43min (video is sped up). While he played only 3 out of 1070 people stopped to watch. Several days before this experiment he played with the Boston Symphony and the tickets were $100-$200 per person.
Check out at 1:54 when the lady with the white plastic bag stands in the middle while people go all around her. I get emotional when I hear her talk at the end.
What opportunities are we missing due to our hustle and bustle?
