PromiseLand and Brock Family News

Last night, at our church leadership team meeting (about 60 folks)  we announced that Matt Brock’s family will be moving back to West Monroe, LA.  It was a sad moment when He called me and let me know.  We love the Brocks so much.  Matt has been a huge part of this church for the last 14 months and he really helped us transition into a great level of worship.  He is so passionate about God and leading people closer to Him.  That is why he was such a good fit for our church.  His musical, vocal, and people skills are amazing.

They have decided to move back home because it is the best choice for his family.  He said last night that he “could not have made this choice 14 months ago because mininstry meant 95% to me.”  He went on to say that men in our church have taught him what it is like to be a good father and how to put your family before ambition and ministry.  Chad Robertson, Will Krauss, and others have been instrumental in shaping his path.  So, now he made the decision to put his ministry and ambition on hold for a while and focus on the health and livelihood of his family.  Tara, Riley, and Larson are special folks and we are so glad that all four of them have been a part of our family in San Marcos.

The Brocks will be coming back to visit and lead worship from time to time and the door is open for further partnership.  There is nothing between any of us that would keep further ministry from happening between us all.  Sunday, August 23rd, we will pray for the family and give them our blessing.  Matt will stay for one more weekend (Aug 30).

So, what are we going to do around here in San Marcos without the Brocks?   We are going to be led by our amazing team.  Natasha, TBear, Praise Team, Musicians, Dance ministry, and Tech teams will all continue to lead us on Weekends.  We are going to have Jacob Lowery come in to consult and work with our teams at least once a month.  We will have other guests join us from time to time.  We are open to a full-time worship pastor in the future, but we are not rushing into that selection at this time.  Justin Rivers from Austin’s Bridge will be with us Sept 13th and Jacob Lowery will be with us Sept 27th.  Pray with us that everything works with God’s timing and will.
