Jacob, Lori, Jessebeth, Hudson, and Mabel
I am going to tell you the thoughts that go through my mind…
Last night, we discussed the Lowery family heading off to Nashville, TN. This is a big step of faith for them. It will mean new changes around here for us at PromiseLand.
It is difficult to see them leave the church (and state). We are so thankful that they have spent 5 years with us in San Marcos. Because of their loving family, our church has had great PromiseGroup leaders, Worship leader, Children’s ministry leader, friends, supporters, accountability partners.
What this means is that others will take some of these responsibilities, but no one should try to be Jacob or Lori. Nor should we expect others filling their places to be Jacob or Lori. There will be ample opportunities to say, “That is not the way Jacob used to do it!”
On the other hand, we are making a commitment to all our congregation that we are going to diligently seek God for the new Worship Leader of PromiseLand San Marcos. There are some big shoes to fill, but God has a great plan for us. Start opening your mind and heart to this new step for us.
Over the next few weeks, express your love and affection for the Lowerys. Take them dinner, give them money, give them a letter of encouragement, a thank-you card, or some other creative way to express yourself.

Jacob and Lori has effected our family greatly. My youngest son counts Jacob as his mentor, all of my girls have worked with Lori with the children’s church, and my entire family was welcomed by the Lowreys to PromiseLand before anyone else greeted us. We will miss them greatly, but we are SO EXCITED for them as they step out on faith. We have experienced this walk and know the ups and downs…but as my mentor always says, the life of one living in faith is full of “Thrills, Romance, and Adventure!” WE LOVE YOU GUYS…and we will keep telling you that until June so get ready for all the gushy emotions!!! 🙂
Someone came up to me last night in shock. She asked me what I thought. I said, well, deep down, I knew they would “go out” eventually. PSM is a church of vision; a church called to the world. We can’t change the world if our hands are tightly closed…we must be willing to send people out. If our attitude is that we send people out, then all they do will credited to our spiritual account. The spiritual law of reaping and sowing appliles to this situation. We are sowing the Lowerys into Nashville, they are so talented and gifted (yes, those are two different things) that I expect the harvest we reap to be incredible.
I know that T-Bear and I will greatly miss the Lowerys. Since we moved here in June, they have shown us laughter, warmth and frendship. I’m so glad that we(T-Bear and I) listened to God and made our move here from WV, and I know that Jacob and Lori will be glad they are making their move to Nashville. And even though I will miss Hudson calling me Dr. Snuzy and Jacob calling me SuzyBear, I am very excited for Jacob and Lori. God will bless them for their obedience.
It’s rough for me to comment on this as Grandad loves those kids. However, I do have a peace about this and am excited for Jacob and Lori as they follow God’s leading.
I am so happy that I`am taking this move with Grace and Dignity…..ok so the child came out for a bit in our staff meeting, all kidding aside after the tears and not wanting to let go, i am trully happy for Jacob and Lori , missing you s already but knowing your walking with God on your side and that we all will be ok.
You guys have got to get a extra bedroom for all the folks that will just be passing by and wanted to stop for a while .
Love you forever and forever you five will be in my heart. Ms Nell
The news caught me off guard. Sometimes you don’t realize the impact a family makes until they are leaving. Jacob and Lori was our Promisegroup leaders when we first started coming to Promiseland they were awesome and very supportive. Then he ask me to sing in the praise team and that was an awesome experience. He is very patient especially when I was hitting a bad note. Lori is great she has an awesome spirit . I know that God will bless them tremendously. I was fighting tears last night, but I’m glad Pastor Robin told us truly like we are all family. I really appreciate that.
The Williams family will miss y’all!!!!
I have a great suggestion how about having an appreciation dinner. We can give gifts and shower them with our love before they leave. That way everyone will be able to say goodbye in a special way.
Peggy just called and told me about last night. I have to work in the evenings now so I missed it. I am glad she told me before I opened the blog. I don’t think I could have handled the shock. I will greatly miss the Lowrys. They always have a smile and an encouraging word. I love to worship with Jacob’s music. I loved working with Lori and the children’s ministry. I know they will be blessed for listening to God. I agree with Lora that an appreciation dinner would be very appropriate. Love ya, Lori, Jacob, Jessebeth, Hudson & Mabel!!!!!!!
Ok, I am already looking for a plane ticket. 🙂 Seriously, I thought last night’s service was done so very well. We truly are all family. That is all I can say right now.
This to was sad to hear, But only because you all will be MISSED SO MUCH!!
Jacob you rock the house and you do have a talent that is wonderful! In that said you are going to change people lives in Tenn. SO WATCH out cause the lowerys are coming full force!!! My Son admires you so much he always wants to be able to see sing and praise. And God please send soemone who’s hair is as crazy as Jacobs!!! 🙂

Although this move is going to be hard to say goodbye that is what will be the hardest part. I have left Family behind and missed and cryed and cryed somemore, But I am SO glad that I did!! I knew the first time that Grandmommie brought me to Promise land in 2004 that was HOME! it took me a couple more years to get here but sense I have been down here God has provided for me every way. Just think how loved you are going to be when you come back for Visits!!!! 🙂 Which I know I am already looking forward too.
I wish nothing but the best for you all. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. This move is Exciting and I cant wait to hear the stories how your familys spreading seeds change lives in Tennessee. WONDERFUL THINGS are about to happen!!!
How about a Money Tree instead of gifts, alone with the dinner. Just an ideal. love to u all.
Oh, our hearts ache to think about Promiseland with out you all. We will miss y’all so much.
We wish y’all the very best.
God will provide!
Love y’all.
If you missed this 1st Wed. Worship service, it is available on CD & DVD. Come by the kiosk and place an order. We have a few extras made up—–first come, first served. You will hear great worship and the story behind the move—-1st hand which is always the best way. 🙂
Usually I dont have trouble finding words, tonight is different however. You see over a year ago, I had a dream that Jacob and his family left to go elsewhere. In my sleep I woke weeping. Shortly following a peace came over me, and I went back to sleep. The peace, I believe was placed by God himself.
I came into a realization that God, had placed Jacob in my life for a reason, as He did in all of ours. Jacob brought a style to worship, that I had never experienced prior. A style that I assure you many have not. Jacob’s Prophetic Gifting is one of authintic power, for through His ministry he has whole heartedly encouraged the body of Christ through worship. We have been edified,as well as brought into a relationship with our Lord. One of true intamacy by his example. He has led us into the glory of God through this style. Through the ministy of the Lowery’s, a pendelum has been engaged in San Marcos, a motion that will continue, and spread throughout this world till the coming of time. Most certainly as we are promised, it will continue through time. The Bride of Christ, worshiping the one True Creator, by way of this authentic worship.
The time is now, for them to carry this elsewhere, and we owe it to whomever they are taking this to, to allow them to go with blessings.
As our Lord tells us, one does not light a candle and place it under a bushle, but places it on a candle stick for all to see. Lowery’s go Shine, in Jesus name. Your light will never go out in our hearts.
oh my….. joshua you have made my whole family cry!! way to go!! i remember when you had that dream….. it made no sense then but it does now…. This blog is overwhelming….
Okay let me start by saying how much this is killing me! I love Jake,Lori and the kids so much they have been such an awsome example of Loving husband and wife, teachers, leaders, parents and most of all friends. I am so proud to be able to call them part of my church family! You cant know them without seeing Gods love flow right through them. This being said I am truly humbled by your decition to step out on faith and be obedient to God. I belive that God is going to use you to acomplish incredible things in his name!
I also believe that God has great plans for Promiseland but we too have to be obedient and be ready to move in any direction that God leads us.
My observation of what makes Jacob so effective as a leader is his very small ego. Sure he has one, who doesn’t, but he seems to be unique among talented musicians, most of whom place their career as top priority. Jacob has always put God in the number one spot and therefore is a most wonderful conduit for His spirit to flow through. I predict that because of this and as long as he keeps these priorities, God’s blessings will flow in every respect to his life. Let us believe that there is one more talented worship leader out there needing a place to grow who places God’s agenda above his own.
I was really taken back with the news. I was saddened but grateful for the time that I have been able to work with Jacob on the praise team. God has wonderful things in store for the Lowreys. They have been faithful and a blessing to have with us. Thank you so much for sharing yourselves with us. We will be looking forward to hearing all about the blessings God brings your way in the future. Jacob thank you for being such a kind leader. It has been an honor to work with you. All our family’s love and prayers are with you and your family.
Jacob, lori and the kiddo’s
Me and my kid’s kid will certainly missed you all. I hope that You and Lori touch many hearts in Nashville as you as you do here in san marcos. I can not remember how many times I walk out of church saying man you don’t now I needed to hear that song. You have a true gift to be able to reach people through your music. May God pour his blessings over you and your family.
We love you guy,
The Vitela’s
Jacob & Lori,
Y’all came up against one of the hardest things God can ask a family to do, and you said yes.
That’s eternal.
My Brother and Sister, this is new news to me. I am here just in tears of joy and sorrow, to see you go and to know that when we come home to San Marcos this summer you all will not be there. I Pray for the Lord’s hand over you and for the greatest of travel mercy. I as well as my whole family will miss you and will always love you all !!
