PromiseGroup Revival
Jackie just came into my office and told me the outpouring they had in their PromiseGroup last night. The story resembled one I heard in the Bible. (see Acts 2)
The discussion and Word that was presented opened up a door. It reminds me of the song by Phillips, Craig, and Dean: This is How It Feels To Be Free. My favorite verse:
I can hear the sound of freedom
Like a distant voice who called
And beckon me to follow
Where I had never gone
And though my heart is willin’
I just stood there at the wall
Prayin somehow it would fall
But in a cross I found a doorway
And a hand that held a key
And when the chains fell at my feet
For the first time I could see
Jesus was bruised for our iniquities. Receive the healing.

We sure would like to hear what happened at the Promisegroup. (It’s like you are teasing us and telling us something great happened but not telling us what!!!) π
yeah, what happened? What did we ever do before Promisegroups?
What did we do before promisegroups? Well, we rushed around trying to get to church before it started, if it was good traffic day, then we may get to go to the prayer room before. Then we were starving by the time we got out we had to get something to eat…and we all know eating late at night makes us fat so we gained weight (It helps me to blame it on that). Then we drove home and fell into bed at 11 p.m. So basically we bacame fat and were really tired. Thank God for Promisegroups because we always eat healthy food there and we always get out right at 8:30. (this does not include our promisegroup because we are always have some tawdry dessert and stay late chatting).
Way to go Jackie, bless you and your group. I pray God visit you all more and more , for I know how wonderful that kind of meeting is for one and all.
Love you :}
Jackie will have to tell you….
jackie????
Jackie?????????????
We also had a terrific night .We shared our concerns, grief’s We asked for Forgivness.A very Intimate Prayer time at the end of the session.Thank You Lord for a Wonderful Relationship with You!!!!
Ok I will tell what happened. After we did the lesson we joined hands to pray and confess our faults to one another. We made it maybe half way when another lady and I started praying in tongues. It took on the tone of fighting the devil with the help of the Holy Ghost. Everyone one was crying and when we stopped nothing else needed to be said. Then yesterday evening my oldest son called (who is not saved) and in the middle of the conversation told me that he is going to church. He also told me that he would not change his ways and I told him that GOD would change him in a way that he would not even realize. Needless to say I have had 2 wonderful days.
Jackie, what a wonderful blessing!!!!
Jackie,
Sounds exciting. Keep up the momentum. π I heard someone say once (I think it may have been Tommy Tenney) “God doesn’t come to take sides, He comes to take over”. It’s time…time for us to step to the side and allow Him to take over. It’s amazing, when He shows up, a son can get his life straightened out in a matter of hours, days or weeks verses the years it could take without God.
Jackie,
Also, I read a great book by Dutch Sheets titled Intercessory Prayer . There is a great section on praying for salvation for family members. I think I have two copies of the book, so I’ll look for it. It has an incredible testimony of a family praying for thier son.
CBGrace,
Thank you for your kind words. I have been praying for all of my children for many years and I saw my prayers answered. That is the first step and the rest is in GOD’s hands.
