I am getting old
Sign of aging: I am starting to really like country music. especially, the blue grassy, Vince Gill type.
I am becoming more like my dad.
That is a good thing.

I love Vince Gill,!!! saw him at the Grand Ole Opera , and we (Eldon and I ) had Some one sing “Look at Us Now “at our 25th remarriage some years ago. getting older means, you already did it, said it, got in trouble for it, and Iam not going to make that mistake again. Remember when you were young I thought i`ll never get old, have wrinkles like that. not be able to move like I did. …. Wrong! :{
Pastor you are so blessed to have the parents you have . Great roll models. We all benifit from your up bringing. Love you and your family.
Funny I have started to listen to classical music some so I guess the circle continues.
Pastor, getting old is a sign that you made it !! I agree with Wynnel, it shows you made it past all the things we ALL said we would never do…. and did LOL. And there isn’t anything wrong with country, Blue Grass or Vince Gill lol… Welcome to the club.
The way that I see it is I have to like some country music. I am a Texan after all. When we were growing up my dad used to sing Hank Williams (Sr.) and Roger Miller to us. I don’t think it’s a sign of getting old. No, the sign that you are getting older is that you simply do not care what anyone else thinks about you liking country music.
Pastor if you water a tree, in short intervals, the roots will actually turn and start to come towards the surface for water. Before you know it, all these roots are coming out all over. As is it with time spent with someone, if you don’t ever get any deep feeding time with that person, your “roots” (country music) begin to turns towards the surface. You mentally seek, unknowingly ways to associate with them. To be fed in a sense.
I could be way off base here, I usually am, but my prognosis is that you and Mr. Rob are due for some time together that does not include church business, or work, or even when the cows need to be moved to a new pasture. That just includes you and your Dad. A deep emotional feeding.
Of course now that I have read what I wrote, it is pretty funny. Maybe I am losing it. I’ll post it anyway!
Joshua, That’s pretty funny. So what you’re saying is I need to spend some time with Laddie and ask him to sing “Let’s all go down to the River” for me? 🙂 He sings it like Hank Williams…it’s pretty good…if you like old country music.
Like your dad??——–oh, NO, that is a scary thought!!!———–just kidding!! He is a pretty good “ole” guy!! That is why I’ve stayed married to him so long. YIKES, let’s don’t talk about how long. That makes me sound old. 🙂 and I’m not, yet.
i need to go skiing with him
Well if you compair yourself to how long people lived in biblical times ….you havent even started living yet…your not even a teenager…Hope that made you feel better!!!helps me feel beeter considering Im older than you!(lol!)
I need to go skiing with him
…in Boone, NC 😉 Hey, we got our first snow of the season today!!
Steve, Does that make you feel old?

Steve, when do the slopes open in NC?
I know this is a little past-due… but it makes me happy to know that you are starting to like country music. It gives me another reason to be happy you are my pastor. !!!!
sorry I missed the follow-up comment. I believe the slopes are already open with blowed (blown? blew?) snow.
