we need more room!
We are once again in the place where we are no stranger. We have no more room in the inn. People are hungry in San Marcos for Truth and they are finding it here at PSM. The “problem” is that we don’t have enough space for them all. Phase 2 of the vision includes adding on the Sanctuary. This will fit another 100 people.
We need a plan in the meantime. The best idea so far is to add a Saturday evening worship service. This would be the same great worship experience as Sunday. If you attended or volunteered on Saturday, you wouldn’t come back on Sunday. Saturdays would start at 6pm with plenty of time afterward for fellowship. (men would watch UT on the big screen upstairs.) Saturdays would be a more casual dress code also.
What do you think? Do you have what it takes to launch a new church service? We would need about 100 people to make the move. This opens up great opportunity for new people to get involved in ministry positions. It also allows people that work on Sunday a chance to come to church.
Are you:
a. needing to stick with the 9 or 11 Sunday service.
b. going to church on Sunday, but would venture out and try Saturday
c. I want to go to church on Saturday! This is really cool.

Pastor, I will be whenever or wherever you need me to be, just as long as I get to come to service, Saturday night is fine. I will continue to serve whenever I am needed.
By the way, it is getting a little embarassing that you are preaching directly to me every Sunday. Just kidding, the laziness sermon has invigorated me and I thank you.
I`ll be there, saturday night sounds good to eldon and I. But then I will probably come to a am service to……. til it gets off the ground or as long as needed. Cause I`ll miss everyone.

How would Saturday night work for the children? Will they have “Sunday” school? Will we need to recruit more teachers and helpers for the new service?

I would love to move to Saturday evening, I am NOT a morning person as I’m sure most who know me have figured out. I cannot understand people that are on the internet at 5:22 a.m. (Anne, just kidding). I have a hard time waking up at that hour. I would need to check with Jesse. However, I have an idea that maybe we could move Bible Troop to Saturday evening for the 1st – 5th graders. I would only need 2 or 3 helpers. Anyway, I’m offering to be in charge of that age group if we decide to go to Saturday evenings. I could always attend the Sunday service with Jesse when he is off.
I would be willing to attend a Saturday evening service or continue 9:00 AM As former Catholic we used to have Saturday evening service to fulfill our Sabboth Day obligation. Saturday would be OK with me.

Richard works most Saturdays so it will be difficult to change. I think it is a great idea and our family will be able to come on the days that Rich doesn’t work.

Let’s put it this way. If we go to a Saturday service and I am needed I will be there. If I’m needed at 9AM I will be there
Since I go to both services for the CD ministry now, does this mean I’ll be going to 3?? Just trying to process this after just getting back online after being off for a week. 🙂
not sure about that, mom. probably record sat service and not the other 2. we are looking into getting NEW volunteers for all positions.
Saturday would be great I really like the dress code. Might be an opportunity for big flags too LOL LOL

Lorraine and I are in agreement with your vision just let me know how we can serve and help with the new Saturday service. Our daughters are commited to Jacob and the worship team on Sundays and they too will serve in any service as needed.
We would like to participate in Saturday evenings. Pat is interested in both worship (play or sing) or technical I would like to serve on hospitality. We would commit to Saturday evenings except for those rare occassions when Niki has a football game on Saturday evening and also Pat can’t attend when he has an art show. But we will usually always know that schedule way in advance.
